Thomas Foods includes biogas in multi-million dollar upgrade

Thomas Foods International

In 2014, Australia’s largest family-owned meat processing company made a large investment to upgrade the capacity of their Murray Bridge facilities in South Australia. They committed $30 million to the project, which included a large shift towards environmentally sustainable processing. A significant part of the budget was a $10 million wastewater storage treatment facility including two covered lagoons considered the latest technology in biogas production, producing up to 8000 cubic metres of biogas daily to offset natural gas use.
